Trinity Singers

Singers1

Trinity has had a long tradition of having a choir, though in recent years the choir is brought together mainly for major festivals such as Christmas and Easter.

We welcome newcomers.  You do not have to be able to read music   -   come along and sit next to a person who sings the same part as you and learn as you go.  We have sopranos, altos, tenors and basses and are very keen to recruit men (or so the ladies say).

Practice night

Our singers meet weekly when prepapring for an event such as Easter or Christmas and rehearse in a warm and comfotable training room which has a piano.  The performance is given in church, where we have an excellent grand piano and one of the finest three manual Edwardian organs in South Wales.

Organ Recital

IMG_1170

Everyone was enthralled by Jeff Howard's recital on 14th May 2011.  It was very well attended and apart from giving great pleasure to those present, it raised over £400 for church funds.  We are endebted to George Speed for persuading an international organist to come to Penarth and play.

Jeff said: "Trinity has an organ of outstaning merit".

The Organ

The organ was built by Norman & Beard in 1908 and celebrated its centenary in the summer of 2008. It can be heard every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. and the organist Evelyn Careless, her deputy Naunton Liles or George Speed the assistant can provide further details. More information at The National Pipe Organ Register.
